More than 17% of the Lebanese population is affected by mental health and behavioural disorder in their lifetime. And yet 90% of them have no access to any form of treatment of support. This also doesn't encompass the percentage of the population that doesn't seek help or report struggling with mental health issue due to cultural stigma around the topic.
Bulbul is an Arabic mobile application that guides the user to find accessible, affordable and appropriate mental health support and services. The app was created to bridge a gap in the existing mental health framework in Lebanon by addressing important socio-cultural requirements. It is designed as a mindfulness app that provides animated at home activities, informative feeds, professional support, and other important features to the user, in the comfort of their home. The idea is that support is a click away. Bulbul can also be accessed by professionals and associations, thus introducing more features such as a Schedule and a Notification Center in order to keep track of all their appointments. To get a better experience of this project, you can either watch the 7 minute presentation which includes the animations, or browse through the still design freely.
